Trials on name, and question
« on: November 19, 2010, 10:10:07 am »
Hi guys,

I don't know if it was already reported, or known fact to you guys... I just bought the whole pack of AI War for the mac (youhou ! told you I would :p). After having installed every package (beside Light of the Spire, who was already installed), I jumped into the game. I entered my serials, received by mail, and after the last serial, the game wrote down, on the upper left portion of the screen its version number. I tried starting my first game. Clicked on the host 1-8 players (or something like that), and there I saw my name, but it was still written trial there on my name. After restart, it came just my name. Don't know if it's normal or not, but wanted to let you know.

I also have another question : now with all the packs installed, how does it works ? DOes the game pick random ships of any extensions in a game ? Or do I need to play a game by chosing an extension ? (like in civ 4, I need to select the extension to play the game).

Thanks for your support, and see you maybe in a game online, when I'll be confident (which won't be before about 10 years :p) in the game ;-)

Many thanks for your support! :)

The trials thing is a known bug, we intend to hunt it down soon.

With the expansions all unlocked, it basically gives you cumulatively all the stuff from them.  So, for things like the bonus ship types, it just chooses randomly from whichever ones you have.  With other stuff that's discoverable out in the galaxy (capturables, etc), those are all additive for the most part, so you go exploring and see them all.  By default it enables all the expansions you have purchased, but if you want to limit the content for any specific campaign you can disable an expansion for just that campaign.  It's very different from other RTS/4X games, much more friendly. :)
