The documentation states that you can select ships by their mark level or even by how much damage they have sustained, but it is unclear exactly what is supposed to be pressed to activate those. The docs state, for instance, "N + 1" will select MkI ships. I've tried the number pad numeral 1, and I've also tried holding down the "n" key and pressing either 1 from the regular number row and number pad, but nothing seems to do the trick.

Also, what exactly does this do? I was looking for a way of quickly filtering mark levels out of the current selection. With this shortcut will I be able to select, say, all Bombers and then use the shortcut to select only MkI bombers---or will it simply select all MkI ships on the planet?

Is there any way to do the latter with the keyboard? I know you can use the mouse to filter selection results off of the selection indicator button, but something keyboard related would be awesome.

I think you have to select all ships you want to filter through first (idk any hotkey to select all ships on planets)

choosing just mk1 bombers is easy, select the ships you want to filter through, and below you will see that it sorts all the ships you have (hover over the button that has a number and a health bar next to it) mk1 bomber and mk2 bomber are different obviously

right hand corner it has specific ships , no mark selection though.

Yes, I am aware of how to select all MkII bombers on the planet using the mouse. I know it is easy, I was just curious what these specific items mentioned in the documentation do, and how they are supposed to be triggered. Thanks though.

The usage of this is a bit unclear for some, a lot of this will likely move onto the context menu.  But the current usage is a during-selection filter.  So, for example, if you hold N+1 while making a selection, your selection will be limited to mark I units ("making a selection" via dragging a box, using the planetary summary, whatever).  Combos like N+1+2 also work, so you can get just mark I and II units.

Excellent, that seems to work perfectly from the planet summary area, which is just what I wanted. I don't mind some mouse movement, but having to click a unit in summary and then go all the way over (I have a big monitor) to the selection button at the bottom of the screen was a bit much. This will save a lot of time and error. Even better that it modifies a box drag. Brilliant. Thanks.
