Loading items from disk

8.021, most recent GOG version.

Loading items from disk: 1

Except it doesn't, and the computer just sits there for a while. I have to CTRL-ALT-DELETE out of the game, which is still listed as "Responding" on the Task Manager.

Happens when quitting from a game.

Hey there, sorry to hear about the trouble.  To make sure I'm clear: this is just when you are exiting the game?  Does this happen when you are exiting a game you are actually playing and going to the main menu, or back to the OS, or both?  Does it happen when you just load up the game to the main menu and then exit without playing the game first?

If there are any error logs inside the RuntimeData folder, can you post those?  Thanks!

Sorry for the inclarity. This only happens when I quit to the main menu from a game already in progress.

Debug log attached --- but on the face of it, the last instance of this issue isn't shown (11:21 PM today) so I'm not sure it'll be much help. Maybe it will, though; I can't reproduce on a fresh "load" of a game if I immediately quit. However, this has happened multiple times, always after longish play sessions.

Loading Items From Disk: 1 appears exactly as any other loading text for this game would. It is not a special Windows error window.

On a whim, I tested a suggestion that someone else had for a similar bug for this game, but ALT-TAB back and forth doesn't trigger this.

I just took a quick look through the log and it keeps mentioning the file Expansions/2/Images/GalaxyView/NeinzulRChamber/Icon , so you might not have that, or it might be corrupted or something. I don't work on the game though so I don't know for sure.
