[Solved] Zenith Remnant demo is corrupt.

Hello,
I've tried downloading the Zenith Remnant demo from 4 sites, Filefront, Gamershell, Atomicgamer and a site called Computergames. The zenithremnant3001.zip opens fine but when i try to open the 3001.zip everyone of them has said it was corrupt and wont open. I'm using winrar. It doesnt make much sense why everyone of them would be corrupt. Anyone else have this problem?

EDIT:
I tried 7z and that didn't work either.

Are you using firefox and is the file size on disk 0 bytes?

I'll second this :). (though I only tried the gamer's hell one).

Anyhow, just download the base game and download the expansion through the ingame updater for now.

No I use opera and it says its 91mb.

Oh I didn't notice I could download it through the game. I just downloaded the base demo and was trying it. I'm still a bit overwhelmed by it :p

Heck, I think you can if you just downloaded the most recent version of the base game(demo or not).  Its been a while since I've done a fresh install and the in-game updater is somewhat new.

I tried downloading the zenith demo again but this time I installed it through the ingame manual update option and it worked fine.
Dumb I didn't notice it sooner.  ::)

Just to clarify on this topic (though I see you've found the solution already), the zip file inside the outer zip file is not a valid zip file -- it's some sort of special format used by AppLife, the updater component that we use.  Why they gave it a .zip extension I don't know, but it's not really zip (or maybe it's encrypted or something, I really have no clue).  As the text file in the outer zip notes, and as you clearly discovered, simply uploading the outer zip file (the whole package that you download) into the Manual Install button in the updates tab of AI War will handle everything for you with no worries!

I have to agree that its rather dumb that they call their file extension .zip :).  Ah well, there are worse decisions a company could make.
