[Solved] Extracted installation files not cleaned up
« on: August 26, 2009, 09:11:34 am »
I was going through my AppData\Roaming folder cleaning up some stuff from another program I uninstalled, when I noticed a folder called 'Arcen Games, LLC'. I thought this was odd as the folder AI War uses is in my AppData\Local folder. When I opened the folder, I found an installer and cabinet file (3mb and 70ish mb respectively), presumably from when the installer I downloaded extracted files for installation. The installer I used was the 1.013 version from Gametrove. This has happened to me before with another installer for another program, so I'm not sure if it's an isolated case, but just thought I'd let you know.

OS: Vista 32bit Service Pack 2

Thanks for reporting it, quickstix. We'll look into it, I'm going to move this to the Tech Support forum.

Indeed they are.  MSI patches require the original MSI file in order to run, so if you clear those files then the patches won't work in the future.  You can always apply them from zip files, but if you want to install the patches through the "Check For Updates" link, you need to have the MSI file still on your computer.
