Gamersgate Code invalid at GameStop

Purchased Ancient Shadows at GamersGate. All other AI + expansions bought at Gamestop. GS says my code (from GG purchase is invalid). Tried loading AS using your download and installer but AI Wars does not recognize that expansion when I boot the game. Can you possibly provide some help?

Okay, when you go into the 'Licenses/Expansions' screen from the main menu, is AS displayed and not taking the code, or is AS missing from the list?

If AS is missing, that means that the installer placed AS in a different place from the AI Wars game and you need to re-install it giving it the correct path.

If AS is present and the license code is not taking, try typing the code out rather then copy pasting it in. There have been issues in the past with 'invisible' characters being copied when that happens.

If the code still does not work you will have to wait for someone at Arcen games to look at this as I can't help with that.

Thanks for the reply. AS is listed but there is no box in front of it as there is for all the other expansions. The AS title starts at the edge of the box and there is no way to insert the code for it.

Have you tried changing the game resolution, or windowed? Sounds like you're having problems with things going off the screen.

Hmmm.

Here's what the license screen looks like on my end. Note this is cropped from my monitor resolution of 1920x1200 so I've cropped a lot of blank space around the edges.



On the resolution, 1024x768 is the minimum the game will really work with. For game engine reasons the menus and similar objects are static in terms of pixel width and so will go off the screen if there is not enough pixels to display them.

If your resolution is high enough and the boxes on the left don't line up as expected, I'm going to have to say there is something corrupt in your install.

Note that AI War keys are global. If you still know your original installation keys for the base game and the earlier expansions, you can download the install files directly from Arcen's website and those keys will work in a fresh install using those files.

Thanks for all of the help. I reinstalled the latest patch and then reinstalled, manually, AS and it allowed me to enter my code and is now working. The text that I was referring to was, as you have shown, inside the message box but the space for the green X was not there. The text began at the edge of the message box under the above green Xs'.

Anyway....it's working and thanks again for all of your help and interest.
