Hmmm, that is very odd. My suggestion would be to use the latest beta version (which can be downloaded from inside the game), as that has innumerable bugfixes. That version is very stable despite being beta, as it will become the next official release in just a week or two.

Sorry to hear about the troubles with the in-game patching system; we're going to be moving to a new one in July, which should hopefully avoid these sorts of issues for you.

For the aiwar3120patch.zip file, that is not a literal patch, it is just a zip file with the update.  If you just unzip its contents into your game folder, and make sure it overwrites and older files with the newer versions, you should be good to go with 3.120.

For the betas, there those are literal patch files and you can get instructions for how to apply those from here: http://arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,5845.0.html

If you already have the full version of at least 3.060, you can skip the update of 3.120 and go right to the latest beta if you want.

Hope that helps!

I think the golem bug is still kicking in the betas, actually; I'm planning to take that one next, probably.

Call your outer zip file something that starts with Beta and ends with an extension of .zip

You'll need to call it Beta3172.zip or similar.
