Game will not load :-/

Hello all....I just purchased the AI war anniversary edition...i proceeded to the arcen site and DL'ed the base game along with all five expansions.  After installing them all(starting with base and going in order with expansions) I ran the AIWAR.exe and it will not load.....All i see is the info in top left about it being a trial and a "gameinit+date/time" stamp in middle of screen....that's as far as it gets :-(  PLEASE help...I LOVE this game and was very excited to get the full game(not a torrent which I WAS playing with no problems prior to my purchase).... I'm running vista 64 if that's relevent.......Thank you.

Hmm, it could be an antivirus or something like that on your computer preventing the game from checking for updates.  You can disable the check for updates, but doing so generally involves getting into the game first

I've attached a fresh 7.001 settings.dat file with the check-for-updates disabled.  If you:

1) Close the game
2) Place the attached settings.dat file in your AIW install's RuntimeData directory.
3) Start the game again

Then you can see if it will get past that point in the startup

Though I do suggest sorting out the antivirus thing so you can update the game; there's a lot of cool new stuff in the beta updates

I started a new game and for some reason it will not let me "un pause"? I looked it up in google and it said something about piracy??!! which makes no sense cuz its an activated (by purchase) game. :-( any ideas?

There's nothing in there that would mess with the ability to pause.  Intentionally, at least

Anyway, does it say "Paused" or "Waiting for Players" or what?

I'm guessing that pressing the "P" key on your keyboard isn't unpausing it?

I don't mind, but if you don't sharpen up that AI's gonna eat you for lunch
