No 2D rendering after update

Hi fellow human survivors, i have an issue where the game doesn't draw the 2D backgrounds or menus, this happened after i updated my 5000 setup to a 6000 one(in 5.000 the game was rendering fine).
Here is a screenshot:


Any help is appreciated.

Odd, are you running a free install (bought via the webpage) or via a download service (Steam, Gamersgate etc)?
 
If so try verifying the local files. If that doesn't help, try reinstalling. It seems there could be textures missing, because as far as I know, not much has changed in the way the game displays textures between those versions.

from the webpage, i'll try reinstalling now see if it works
