license info impulse vs steam

i orginally bought the game thru impulse is there anyway to register the key or transfer it to steam?

You should just register it with steam as normal for any game you buy from a compatible 3rd party (i.e., games menu -> activate a product on steam -> type in AI wars unlock code). That said, if your key has been unlocked by someone else using a key crack, you're sadly out of luck - sorting out who the legit owner is would be far too time/cost intensive for Valve and Arcen to do on a regular basis, so there really is no way at the moment to resolve such a situation that I'm aware of.

fyi yes it does say that my code has been logged by someone else in steam. it is however logged with impulse if that helps at all.

As I said, way too easy to turn into a he said/she said type of thing. Short of a single master list somewhere there isnt much in the way of options to resolve this type of situation. Really, it doesnt matter though - the only thing you get from steam is a link to steam achievements, all of which are present in game anyway. There's discussion of this in much greater depth elsewhere, so I won't bother rehashing it anymore here.
