Please look in the game folder to see if an error was logged there in a text file like UnhandledExceptions.txt or similar.  If not, you are probably running Vista or Windows 7, in which case you need to look in C:\Users\YourWindowsUsername\AppData\Local\AIWar\ and it should be there.  You should also see a settings.dat file.

If you post the error files, then that will give us an idea of what has happened here -- if something corrupted part of the game, or a prerequisite on windows, or whatever.  While you are looking at this, also check to make sure that your settings.dat is larger than 0 kb.  If it is 0kb, then most likely that was corrupted for some reason and you should delete it and replace it with your settings.bak file from the same folder.  The recent beta versions of the game are set to do this automatically, but I don't know what version you are running.

Hope that helps!

Same here, running Win 7 and after last patch release downloaded now can't run game.

Unhandled Exception Occured: System.File.IO.FileNotFound.

SlimDX reinstalled

Windows not allowing me to reinstall .NET Framework 3.5 stating nothing more than Setup Error.

Never had problems before the release.

What version were you running before the release?  And was it working immediately prior to the release?

If .NET 3.5 is saying "setup error," that's a pretty good indicator that there is a problem with .NET.  I would suggest using the full package of .NET 3.5 to try resolving whatever that issue is.

If your prior version was less than AI War 3.0, then most likely the issue is that .NET 2.0 is corrupt or uninstalled on your game.  AI War does not normally require .NET 2.0, but that is what it runs on (.NET 2.0 is a part of .NET 3.5).  If .NET 2.0 was previously installed, but then was uninstalled, that quite often corrupts the install of .NET until you reinstall .NET 2.0.  Yay Microsoft. :(  In that case the solution would be to reinstall .NET 2.0, because apparently if it was ever there you can't take it off your system without applications that were compiled against .NET 2.0 but otherwise would run against .NET 3.5 (like AI War).

Sorry for the inconvenience, and hope that helps!

No worries, I responded in the other thread.  I think it's actually a different error on yours, but pretty much a shade of the same problem: .NET being corrupt, looks like.
