Alien Bundle on Steam validation issue

Just bought the alien bundle on steam. All the keys work except for the Zenith Remnant key. The game tells me that they key does not appear to be valid. I pasted the key after copying from the steam product codes window.

Hmmm, that's a new one on me -- my best guess is honestly a copy/paste error, that perhaps you pasted in the wrong key, since we've literally never had a bad key through Steam before.  Beyond that, if you're sure it's not that sort of error, you can PM me the key in question and I'll take a look to see if it's valid.  If it's not I can send you another one, but that will really be a surprise if so.  Make sure that you're putting in the TZR key in the TZR slot, not in the slot for the base AI War game, too.

Damn that's a quick reply. Don't you have games to develop or something? Anyways I tried typing the key in manually and it was a no go. After running the updater to the Beta 3 update I pasted it again just to be sure and it worked. So either restarting or updating fixed it. Thanks for the blazin' fast reply.

Huh, that's odd -- maybe it hadn't fully taken the base game key yet.  I thought that was stamped out well before 5.0, but I can't recall for certain.  At any rate, sounds like the restart of the game after putting in the base game key was what did it, though the fact that was required is pretty odd.  Anyway, glad it worked!

And hey -- we get notifications of new posts, and when we're here why not answer!    But yeah, we do that in between developing games.

I'd like to report that I had the exact same problem as the original poster. Thankfullly restarting the game and trying again solved it for me as well.

Okay, thanks for the info!  Very odd that this has now happened for two people.  What OS are you on, out of curiosity?

There was a report of this on the Steam forums, as well: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1977252. If you can't figure out how to crush this bug, perhaps the license key error message should suggest restarting the program and trying again?

Yeah, we'll have to update the message I suppose.  This has been like 4 people out of 50,000 so far, so it seems incredibly rare unless most people are just figuring it out without telling us about it.

Had the same issue with the last expansion I tried to register ( Children of Neinzul). Restarting the game and trying again did allow me to register, however.

I as well had a similar issue.  bought the bundle on steam, all 3 expansions worked, but main key was 'invalid'.  checked on steam forums, found these forums through tech support thread, got here on these forums and found this post.  restarted game, and key worked fine.
