I'm running OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan
And my game won't restart unless I remove the .dat and .bak file as referenced in another thread.
I have to do this every time to play the game.
I have an intel 4000 with 1gm of video ram and 16gb of onboard ram as well as 2tb drive with most of the space free. A disk check has been run in both live and recovery mode and no errors have been found.
I can reproduce the issue.

Have you tried reinstalling the game or verifying the game's cache through Steam?

This is happening to me too, but it seems to be on exactly every other launch. Very irritating. Totally fresh install, with DLC or without.
OS X 10.11.1

I had the same problem, but after a second launch i could play the game. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game because that problem was very annoying but the game doesn´t play now :'(
The spinning color wheel start and I can´t do anything else, so I have to force quit the game.
Help!

I booted it up a moment ago to see if I could replicate the issue, but it works for me on OSX.
Can you at least get to the main menu screen? If so then I recall having the beach ball issue every now and then, so I made an adjustment (in the setting menu) to Max thread to 200 and it has been rock solid. Could this be the case for you too?

i could start the game finally and I set the Max Thread to 200. It seems to work now... I will try a few more times and I will leave a new report. Thanks

Awesome. :D
It sounds like it's the same issue then.
I plan to play this weekend, so I was hoping there's was no new issue.

I have been playing a lot this week without any problem now.
I think the problem is solved :D
