Do updates affect older campaigns?

I just updated and forgot my OP drone star ships will now be nerfed; that would not be nice for my current game.

Updates affect older saves, yes.

But which marks of the enclave starship were you using?  MkI and MkII actually got buffed, and the MkIII's nerf was much milder than the MkIV's.

I only used the mark III and lower. It should not be that bad then.
