Steam: Loss of Expansion
« on: December 28, 2015, 12:47:10 am »
Hello, I had previously purchased all the DLC for AI War: Fleet Command on Steam.

Recently it came to my knowledge that I no longer have the Ancient Shadows DLC, when I had it previously before.

I have gone through steam support, and they forwarded me to here.

I have played, and even have Ancient Shadows Steam achievements unlocked.

This is one of my favorite games, and I'd like to get this sorted out.

Sorry to hear it's giving you troubles. If you bought it on steam, and it's not showing up in steam, then I don't know why they would have referred you to us. We can't control what's associated with your steam account. So I'm guessing it's some other problem; to clarify:

1) Did you actually purchase Ancient Shadows on steam, rather than direct through us or someone else?

2) In the steam client, in the library, with AI War selected, what is listed in the "DLC" box (under the "Achievements") box?

3) In the game, on the title screen, on the right, what expansions are listed?

4) Click on "License / Expansions", what is listed and what says it is unlocked?

5) In windows explorer (or file system viewer, for other platforms), in the game's expansions directory (probably "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\AI War Fleet Command\RuntimeData\Expansions\" on windows), what directories are there?

1) I did buy Ancient Shadows through Steam Store.

2) Here is a screenshot of the DLC I own
http://prntscr.com/9k5ehk

Destroyer of Worlds
Vengeance of the Machine
Light of the Spire
Children of Neinzul
The Zenith Remnant

3&4) Here is a screenshot of the DLC list in-game

Destroyer of Worlds
Vengeance of the Machine
Light of the Spire
Children of Neinzul
The Zenith Remnant

5) Six directories are shown

Now to clarify, when I made the first post, Ancient Shadows was NOT showing up on the in-game main menu, OR the license key list. For some reason, it is showing up now.

Here is a screenshot of questions 3 and 4 in another screenshot taken just moments ago.

If this is relevant, these are steam achievements I've unlocked while using the Ancient Shadows expansion

That's really odd. If it doesn't show up in that list, steam doesn't think a steam copy of the expansion was purchased for your account. That's on their end, rather than ours (we don't tell them who owns what), which is why I was surprised they referred you to us.

The "4" directory is Ancient Shadows.

It's also quite bizarre that it would change from not working to working with no apparent explanation. Does it show up in the steam list now?

If you go to https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/ (logging in, if it asks you), does Ancient Shadows show up there?

Do you have a purchase confirmation email or something similar? Also, is it possible you had family sharing enabled and were using someone else's copy that they shared with you?

I bought DLC 1-5 in a steam bundle, I did get DLC 4 then and played the game, then spent time in other games and now 6-12 months after I played it the last time It's gone, but I have achievements that you can only get with DLC 4 (champion one). Steam have not replied for months.

my apologies for necroing a thread almost two and a half years old, but i did find the email containing my purchase details of the ancient shadows expansion.

i still have not remedied this issue, and i'd like to get it fixed.

how would i go about delivering the proof of purchase? by screenshot in pm or something?
