Hi,

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the manual package.  The problem you are having looks like it is because you have renamed manual update files for The Zenith Remnant.  For these, if you leave them as the original filenames, they should work fine.  For the Zenith one, the main thing is that it must start with "Zenith" as in the original.

For the base AI War ones, it must start with "AIWar".  However, depending on what version of the game you were previously playing on, you may need other intermediary AI War packages.  The AI War 3.120 manual update files don't include everything back to every prior version; and in the case of that specific manual update, it's actually not really a manual update package, but just a simple zip file with the contents in it; sorry for the confusion on that one.

Best thing with the AI War 3.120 is probably to just install it from the setup file if you are not using the in-game updater (which, actually, is the far easiest thing).  Otherwise if you miss some versions in the middle, you'd have various missing graphics.  For the Zenith thing, as long as you have the filename start with "Zenith," then that should work fine.

Apologies for the confusion; we're in the process of updating our installer/patcher components for the second time, to make it easier and clearer.

No i didn't rename it i just extract from the original zip into a folder then pointing the manual update to that 3.0.0.1.zip file, the same thing happened with main zip(2010_02_03_ZenithRemnant3001.zip) what i mean main is the original zip untouched from the downloaded.
The zip structures :
Code: [Select]
2010_02_03_ZenithRemnant3001.zip
       |
       |_____ 3.0.0.1.zip
       |
       |_____ Director.Xml
       |
       |_____ HOW_TO_INSTALL.txt

Fixed with automatic updates but oh well sometimes i need to install it manually to reinstall on pc which doesn't have internet connection.
Btw nice support you provided keep it up :),and yes tidalis is really great,it's like brainfuck version of puzzle,my brain become refresh!,i don't normally play puzzle much but last night i played for 3 hours and i got 22 levels :),it needs some more QA on the gui,the placement & positioning of the button, edges, needs some polishing.Overall it's a great puzzle games!.

Okay, nowi see the problem, then -- you unzipped the outer zip file. As it says in the how to install text file, don't unzipped that outer file or rename it, just put the whole thing into the updater.

Glad that you areenjoying tidalis also -- bear in mind that beta means we are still polishing a ton of aspects of it.

like i said before the same thing with untouched "2010_02_03_ZenithRemnant3001.zip" file,if i use these, the same error comes up,so you mean the updater doesn't accept file with xxxzenithxxx.zip?but instead zenithxxxx.zip?,as per tidalis i can understand that as i am a programmer myself,i have question over the recent plan moving into unity3d engine, are you sure the same performance(100k ai) would be feasible with unity?.

I couldn't agree more your company has provided such great support,i've felt a passionate, professional in mix with friendliness,so this is must be what everyone ever dream of?working but also love to work on it,keep it up! and cheers  hehhe.

Yep, precisely.  "2010_02_03_ZenithRemnant3001.zip" is the problem it won't allow that as a filename, because it doesn't start with Zenith.

,as per tidalis i can understand that as i am a programmer myself,i have question over the recent plan moving into unity3d engine, are you sure the same performance(100k ai) would be feasible with unity?.

From our tests, looks like it will be, yes.  Certainly the AI and all the simulation stuff is just as fast on Unity as it is on .NET, so that part isn't any worry at all.  With the awesome profiler in Unity, we actually may be able to get that sort of performance better than ever over time with Unity.  With the Unity engine, my only concern revolves around the graphics part of it, making sure that that is able to handle all the ships okay, but there are some techniques for dealing with that, and we've stressed that out pretty well with Tidalis already -- it runs at triple the framerate of AI War, for instance, and often still has several thousand sprites on the screen at once.

If there's to be a challenge with Unity, performance-wise, I think it will be a graphical thing we have to work through.  But other than that, performance should be identical or superior-thanks-to-profiling, and I think that the overall net effect will be a really hugely positive one.  We'll be giving up a few minor things, like any short-term potential of multi-monitor support, but we will be gaining ridiculously more in return.

I couldn't agree more your company has provided such great support,i've felt a passionate, professional in mix with friendliness,so this is must be what everyone ever dream of?working but also love to work on it,keep it up! and cheers  hehhe.

Many thanks!  We try. :)
