Cannot play multiplayer games
« on: February 28, 2011, 11:30:26 pm »
Hello,

I can't play multiplayer games. I can connect to the host's game, but it just sits there and "Waits for players." There's a lag of about 40 seconds.

Tell me what information you'll need and I'll be happy to give it.

Well, start with your network set up :P How EXACTLY are you trying to connect?

I honestly don't know how the network is set up. I'm using the college network.

And I'm connecting to the other guy's computer using direct IP connect (not Hamachi).

I would try turning the network sync size down, in the settings menu, on the host.  It sounds like perhaps that is causing some issues on the network you are specifically on.  You might also try turning down MTU a bit on both the client and the host, if the network is set up a bit oddly (which college campuses often are).

Hope that helps!

Check your firewalls too, or if you're using a personal router, check the port forwards on it.
