Desynch
« on: November 07, 2009, 09:16:15 pm »
My friend and I were playing AI War today, as we are wont to do, when suddenly, my friend, who was hosting, reported vicious attacks by desynchronization, and I noticed that the game was stuttering terribly.  We checked the forum, read this topic, checked our .NET versions.  I had SP1, he did not.  He updated, we loaded our saved game, disabled TBS-friendly pause, and continued, but the game desynched again after a few minutes, so we paused, saved, and are submitting the saves for your perusing pleasure.  Mine is attached, he will be replying shortly with his.

Hey there, thanks for reporting this, and sorry to hear about your troubles.  I will look into this more, but I think that what is happening is that a few messages are being mangled when you initially sync your multiplayer game.  There are two fixes for this.  First, you can update to the latest prerelease (free, of course), if you want:  http://arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,2144.0.html

Secondly, in your existing version if you open up settings on and look under Network Sync Performance Settings on the first page, toggling on that checkbox for Skip Batch Network Sending may also fix this.

Hope that helps!
