Black screen at start-up

Hello, I recently tried replaying AI War and noticed an issue that wasn't there before. When I try and start the game I get a blank screen. This seems entirely unaffected by resolution and even when I try to start the game in windowed mode it loads as a full black screen.

I'm running the game in Windows 7 64-bit and using a NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250.

Sorry to hear about this.  How do you have the game -- through our installer, or through Steam?  How did you get the latest version -- our updater, or Steam?  If you're on steam, verifying the cache would probably fix it.

If you have it through our installer, you probably need to reinstall that over top of itself and then try updating again.  I have a suspicion that my errors with the patching system yesterday (really sorry about that) may have borked your installation.

If you still have problems, then there may be something that I did wrong with the upgrade path for the non-steam version, which is why I ask how you have the game.  There are a variety of ways that people can get to the latest version, and I may have messed something up for one of the paths but not the others.

I'm using the Steam version. I just uninstalled it, reinstalled it, verified the integrity of the game cache, and double-checked that my display drivers were up to date. So far none of that seems to have done anything.

Wait, okay, I just did this again and now it apparently works. I have no clue what I did differently.
