how do you manually update AI Wars?

the title is all i ask. i've spent the past couple hours looking through multiple other topics asking this same question with no clear answer.

mainly because simply unzipping the files from http://www.arcengames.com/dl/AIWarBetaUpdates2.xml to the games file directory does nothing at all. the zip files come with 3 folders: AIWar.app, AIWar_data, and RuntimeData. yeah, so just extracting those 3 folders into the games file directory does nothing at all aside from put said files in the runtime folder and adding those other 2 folders.

i'm using version 3.0.0.0 btw and no the auto updater function in-game doesn't work.

Ai War broke backwards compatibility with it's update process when they changed to unity. I don't remember off the top of my head exactly which version that was. Your version is old enough though that I would just redownload and reinstall.

Yea, you can still load the old saves from 3.0 (or even 1.0), but 3.x cannot auto upgrade to the unity version.  A redownload and reinstall is probably best in general, given that the latest official version is 7.0

What specifically sucks about it?  There's an importer in the new version if you just really don't want to configure your settings again, though so many of the settings are new.

In general you may want a separate install for 7.0 anyway, it's a very different game than 3.0.
