Ok, I'm not sure this is the correct subforum, but I have no better idea.

How do I set gather point for MSD? Right-clicking just moves it, and I can't find anything in the controls list..

I don't believe there is any way to set a gather point on an MSD or enclave starship.  All the gather point is on non-mobile space docks is just their "move to" point, but they don't move.

You may be able to achieve a similar effect with an MSD using rally points, but that may have a broader effect than desired.

If you're just producing ships in the midst of a fight you can (iirc) put the MSD/enclave on FRD and the produced ships will come out in FRD and find something to chase/shoot.

Enclave/NCC drones are on FRD regardless unless you grab them and point them at a target, iirc. Probably right about the MSD's FRD mode though, keith.
