Can't connect via hamachi
« on: November 10, 2012, 12:22:13 pm »
So, my friend and I are both used to Hamachi and use it frequently. We're attempting to resume an AI wars game that we started via LAN a few weeks ago over Hamachi. I keep getting the "disconnected and not discovering" error in AI wars when I attempt to connect using his IPv4 number from our Hamachi network. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

If it helps, we're both using the same edition of the game and we got it on steam.

My best guess is that your adapters might not be ordered correctly. Windows defaults to the first adapter in the list of the LAN adapters when playing games. There's another thread in here from recently with some other ideas, but I bet this is what it is since you already had these computers working when on a LAN.

Right.  Is this something that someone fixes in managing the adapter settings? I'm running windows 7 at the moment and it looks like I had a few extra connections enabled (a LAN I'm not connected to and my EasyTether). I disabled them. Should that fix it? If not, how do I reorder my adapters so that Hamachi goes first?
