I have started games where every planet connected to me, and most of the planets connected to them were IV's, at which point I just give up and pick a new map.

That would be a cool seed to post, if you see one of those again. :)

Next time I manage to find one, I will. Problem is I don't usually write down the seed before the match, and they're rather rare, so it may be hard to get anything other than a screen cap.

There is a button in the galaxy map that you can hover over to see the map seed, plus everything else about the settings for the current game.  That way you don't have to write down seeds in advance if you find a cool one!

For added fun, set the AI to where the AI gets multiple Ion Cannons on its IV planets. I believe 9 should do the trick.... {grins evilly}

And start yourself with something like eyebots or infiltrators so you can raid said ion cannons for less "fun" :).

I am noticing more and more that the definition of fun is kind of different on these boards compared to what is in the dictionary ^^

Maybe this warrants a some sort of study, it may be indicative of the potential customer base for the game. :)

Bear in mind, there is a lot of good-natured sarcasm, too. :)

Nah, I still think it would be best to send in a couple thousand Colony Ships onto these planets because they are just so awesome.

The game needs a structure that can mass produce these units, because CTRL+SHIFT+CLICKing five + additional clicks isn't enough.
I'd take a sea worm any time over a hundred emotionless spinning carriers.

I have an idea that would simplify that.

It involves a cat, running water, and duct tape.  ;D
