User Manual?
« on: December 15, 2014, 03:05:46 pm »
It's a bad start to a game when you can't find the user manual! I'm looking for a PDF that I can have on my tablet for easy reference while playing. Or is playing without one the first test?

Hi there, there are numerous tutorials that you can go through in the game that give you the how-to on getting started.  There are then copious tooltips on everything.  For everything else, there's the wiki: http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=AI_War:Fleet_Command

Hope that helps!

The wiki has been in better shape before though, I'd recommend the tooltips over the wiki for detailed info.
Also, you can hit F1 (multiple times) in game to get a giant list of everything that has a tooltip in order of mark on the side of the screen, which eventually cycles back to only the ships on that planet.

Many thanks guys, I'll certainly give both a go. This is a nice forum, in some you ask for help and they descend on you like a pack of wolves!

You bet!  Loads of people love discussing strategies and ideas in here, so always feel free to stop in after you get through some of the materials if you find you want to bounce ideas, etc.

AI War is a game where you need a lot of help unfortunately. The game has a huge amount of content, even without all the expansions (and with them it gets crazy as hell).
Without help a lot of people struggle and will give up soon.
So I guess because everyone has been at the same spot as you do they can imagine like you feel and are much more friendly as in other communities.

Best way for me to understand was to play the game itself. Tutorials 8of course) first and after that I tested everything out and checkes so myself how things work around.
Except that you can always ask in the forums for all the little things you didn't get or easily just look it up in the tooltips.

This forum has one of the best communities. Lots of passionate fans about the product. Being surprised by the AI is one of the most enjoyable parts of this game. Enjoy being a new player.

AI War: Fleet Command is one of the few games that doesn't appeal to troglodytes.
