This upcoming week is finals week, so we've been working on end of the semester stuff and haven't had a chance to try most of these. I strongly suspect the winning strategy would be a combination of lightning/EMP warheads, beach-heading fortresses, and a huge fleet to cover the fortresses while they grind the system into dust.

Use Nuclear Warheads , Critical Rockets Armoured Rockets work too , then sent in the fleet to wipe the floor with the stagglers , or cut of supply to the planet , or use Astro Trains to drag them out Then you create a Breach head and spam snipers , then hope that your Astro Trains are slow enough to kindly let the sniper turrets build

No astro trains, and they're mostly core grenade launchers, so no dice there either. It's a gateway to a homeworld, which makes it unusually resiliant :(

if you destroy all tachyon units around the entrance- ue starships, nukes, sacrifical units, whatever- you should then be able to move cloaked ships into the system without enemies opening fire. Send a full population of cloaked starships into the system, then follow it up with your entire fleet. move your fleet a decent distance out and spread it out a bunch.

There is another method I've used against such targets.

Send a snacrafice in(say, some reject star-ships, just need to get the GL's to all fire), Grenade Launchers have a horridly long reload time. Pretty much their only weakness. Immediately. (and I do mean IMMEDIATELY) transport-ship onto them a crap-ton of units. Also remember to spread said units out a bit. shift+q can be used in numerous creative manners to reduce AOE effectiveness.

:3 I use this sort of tactics on lightning turret swarms frequently.

I do believe that's what you call the food you eat at the start of a session... ;)
