A favorite of mine:
Pick a home system that gives you raptors. (Edit: I have since played a bit more, and "raptors" is pretty much interchangible with autocannon minipods or space planes)
They're awesome. They cloak, they pack quite a punch in large groups, they got awesome range, and they're faster than anything else (I've avoided frigate attacks by simply flying out of the missiles' range).
I like putting them into low-power mode and flying them into an AI system (given that I've scouted (always scout ahead, kids!) and there's no tach-emitting enemies on the 'hole). Then I fly them to the edge of the system, power up, and strike.
Since the AI is usually in groups around guard posts and wormholes, I start by striking those, one at a time: Appear, shoot stuff to pieces, fly off and cloak. Repeat as needed.
Great tactic to take a system with minimal effort, or to soften up an higher-level system before sending in a larger fleet.
Combine with teleporty, cloaky cleanup drones to cause added grief, and/or Mk III engies for cloaky in-field repairs.

Anyway, what's one of your favorite tactics? Share!
