Ship design hacking in multiplayer

Before I go in and report it as a bug, is it intentional that only one player get the unlocked ship in a multiplayer game when you use a ship design hacker?  When we just capture the ARS, we both get the default unlock, but only the person who actually claims the planet seems to get the hacked option and unlock.  If this is intentional, it might be nice to have some info to that effect on the wiki or in game.  If it's a bug, well, then I'm happy to report it as such!

The other players get to pick their own ship; until they do they don't get one :)

That's what I assumed, but I can't find where to choose it.  I don't get an "ARS" tab like my ally did on any of my science labs.  We'll be playing more later tonight so I'll look around again, but if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be much obliged.

Yea, someone suggested somewhere that there should be a notice, local to that player, on that notifications thing if there is a pending ship choice from a hack and which planet it is on.

This would help out greatly in situations like this.
