Master List of Ships

Perhaps have a page for each ship.  Aligned right could be the picture of said ship and in a column on the right could be the stats for the Mark levels and such.  The main content body could be the description, Notes for when used in the hands of players, notes for when the AI has them, perhaps some Trivia (EX: Plasma Siege used to be Siege, Dreadnought, ...) and so on. As I see it, not all of the ships change that drastically every update.  Aside from energy costs in the 5.02x update (Which I can't remember the exact number of at the moment), not a lot of ships get across-the-board changes as far as I can find on the 5.x page.  If we had a few people as "Wiki Managers" who had the privelage to publish community-written content, edit ship information, etc., it could work out quite nicely and give a very professional feel to the game, as well as help prospective players learn more about the game.

Cool, it looks like people are kind of willing to do this!  If we want it to wind up on the Wiki I think the best thing might be to start off with a separate Wiki which is free to edit and not on the main Arcen page --- it'll be easy for people to throw things in, but Chris and Keith won't have to worry about us embarrassing the company with DONGS DONGS DONGS or feeding bad information to new players (tho judging by the fora, I expect the quality of information will get pretty high pretty fast).  I think the best thing might be to see if Chris et al can revive the free-editable player Wiki the site used to have (not sure when it went away), we can work on drafts there and then presumably it will be easy to migrate the pages to the main Wiki if we get them to a point they can be seen in public.  I'm going to file that in Mantis now.

If we do use a separate Wiki, I don't know that vetting articles will be an issue --- but it would be great if someone wanted to volunteer to coordinate; try to find people to do some of the basic tasks like starting pages for each ship and uploading stats and pictures, as well as the important work of getting the word out a bit to players who might want to contribute.  I am not volunteering for that; I can barely coordinate getting my own self out of bed and to work most days.

Ya, I've emailed asking for wiki access.

Looking at the dump file it's nice and structured, I may be able to automate something to keep individual ship pages updated.

Need to get in there and poke around however.
