AI Eye on home planet, help!

I have absolutely no idea what to do - there's an AI Eye on its home planet, and if I send in any significant number of ships they'll all get blown to bits by the ships streaming out of it. The planet isn't alerted, so I can only send in about 150 ships and they just get torn apart by guard posts. How can I kill it? It's under a core force field! Is it possible kill the home planet with just a few ships?

Your best bet here is to sneak in a few spirecraft penetrators or armored warheads to tactically eliminate all of the core guard posts.  After doing that, the ai eye will disappear and you're free to attack the home command without much more resistance.

Thank you, again. You're quite helpful. :p I'll try the penetrators, my AIP is pretty high already from lobbing warheads around.
