Exos should hit around 5 and a half hours now, unless you've gone completely crazy with AIP.

But yeah, they were practically impossible for a little while there.
If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

Is there some way we could get a new keyboard or something to you? :)

Is it just non-botnet golems or are both on?  Double exo sources are nasty.  And no spirecraft, right?

Defense in depth for me. I pretty much know that even the most heavily fortified chokepoint world I can reasonably get in the early to mid game is probably going to leak some exo ships, especially the stronger ones. I keep a good amount of defense on my homeworld no matter how far out the "border" of my "space" is, because of this. And it has saved my bacon on multiple occasions (and I guess the last remnant of human civilization too, but mostly I was defending for the bacon :P)
Also, having some tractor turrets grav turrets on your own core worlds, both in from the "outside" and the wormholes to your HW help greatly. Your own core worlds also make great places for black hole generators if you have the trader turned on.

And finally, forcefields. Tons of forcefields. ;)
I use them both to protect the important stuff and over wormholes I want to stall them getting through (again, like your own core worlds over the wormhole to your HW)

Aip was mostly around 80.

One golem at 4/10
Botnet at 2/10

A cap of mk ii shields is only 200 to 240 mil hp il i think.  could to protect my hw for wbout minute...shi

The.fact the enemy ai has enclaves raiders and implosons a lot. especially the impolsions.

I think enclave guardians are soon going to be hit with a nerf.

And yea, implosions (both guardian and spirecraft) can wreak havok against stuff like starships and forcefields. ;)

Somehow I keep missing getting these to test them out.  I should just remake a few times until they're rolled.

I think you created a monster.

My main question there is "how should an enclave guardian's effectiveness compare to an enclave starship of the same mark?"

Enclaves feel fine.

The problem is after you survive them, they should be easy to take down rather then face a second fight.

Given their firepower now, I could see their health coming down to 4 million (Mark I) which is a 50% reduction.  That's still more health than any other Guardian besides the Warp Gate Guardian.  Also, I forgot when I redid the stats, but the Spider Guardian should probably get a Medium which is the standard for Guardians.  It still has the Sniper Guardian hull, which it no longer resembles.

As I said in another thread. Enclave Guardians are way too tanky with their 10k range and auto kiting.

Anyway..
I think I've found a way to stop the current exos on 10/10. If this works I will  probably win my current 10/10 game. All I need is time and energy.. more energy than time. I'm going to get MarkIV Bombers and Space Planes and as many Spirecraft Implosions and Penetrators as I possibly can before the Exo hits. I think this will work because I tested the firepower of Spirecraft ships vs Wormhole Guardians.. they pretty much dropped like flies so I'm pretty sure I'll be able to destroy Hunter/Killer, Golems and Mark V Starships too. I'd like to also get Mark II Hardened Force Fields.. I think I'll get those but I'll need to do some hacking. I have only Spirecraft enabled. Broken Golems and Botnet are disabled. It seems to me that Spirecraft are the best counter to Exos. Better than any of the Golems.. hell.. Spirecraft are more cost efficient and more useful on an AI home world attacks too.

EDIT: Hey Faulty Logic you could try this very same thing if you want/care. Spirecraft + Bombers. If either of us succeeds we know it's still possible to beat 10/10 even though we play on very different settings.

Yeah, spirecraft are the boss of killing exos:

Penetrators for the H/Ks, Rams under cloak for the golems/starships, and shieldbearers to protect your stuff.

But this thread was about what to do without spirecraft.

The exos are certainly possible now (6.027), for 10/10 AI 4/4 exos. Hmm, very different? How do you play?

Sounds like for really high difficulty games i should turn down exo strength to ensure they feel like an asest instead of a burden. thats not that bad though

Yea, 9+ is dangerous territory, even for veterans.  To some extent it may become even more dangerous.  So there's a lot to be said for tuning the difficulty (either the "main" difficulty or the "auxillary" difficulty/presence of the various factions/plots/etc) to suit the kind of experience you want.  "Maximum Punishment" is not always the goal ;)
