In a current game, against a Turtle and Fortress baron (And no superforts yet.) I started with the electric shuttles, just a surprise to see. (And its been surprisingly easy) The only reason I can guess it has, is the fact the Ai almost seems to exclusively focus fire on the shuttles (Over the 3 groups of 440 each of the fighters/bombers/frigates that enter) Its odd, because normally, in other games, that it seems to hit the trio ones first, over the odd one. And also, what is a demon hand ship? (for abilities)There is a fabber nearby, but its in a really tough spot to defend. So I'm wondering if its worth it or not. Two Mark 4 world to a lesser mark 3, I have to get one, to shield and push outward, since the area to the north is 20+ planets outside sending a cloaked ship and science vessel for knowledge gathering just isnt worth going after any in there . Thank you for the time to read and reply.

Demon hands are not worth it. They are just the core variant of vampire claws and you can only build 4 of them.

There are not any overriding priorities to the various dock-based ship classes (or their core variants), or starships, turrets, and similar.  Basically the only things that the AI has special overall priorities for are the huge and valuable capturables, like advanced factories and similar.  The AI logic for combat in the situations you are describing is based on the math of what ships the AI can do the most damage to, and what ships can do the most damage to the AI, etc.  My guess would be that your electric shuttles are just particularly well suited against the AI ships in that particular scenario.  As you play further and the AI unlocks new ship classes, that balance of power might change. :)

i think so if they are spaming units 1 by 1 but if you are realy smart u wont get pwned by that simple tatic as i explaind in another post :D
 like here

they take them serious as they try to counter them with micromangement if you know what u doing then that no problem yust >>>>>> then send them into the wide group that why i love them they promote an tatic of taking on anything with some skill needed.

AI War - even the smallest units can make all the difference no matter how weak they are still quite capable of taking the hits. if it can Kill and receive damage then it worth its time other wise if it cant kill and cant take the damage for the higher surviving ships then it is worthless.
