Engineers and Mercs
« on: August 19, 2011, 11:41:31 am »
What gives, my engineers won't repair my merc ships unless I specifically order them to do so and then it is only 1 at a time.  Thought we were trying to minimize micro management.

Increase your cost threshold above which engineers won't repair ships.  I think the default is 1000/s, which is lower than most merc ships cost to repair.  Careful you don't tank your economy with this, but you can adjust this sort of thing under the CTRLS screen.

Thx!

That is strange since they repair my star ships which cost at least as much as the merc ships.  Are the star ships under a different repair heading?

No problem!

In terms of the starships, they don't cost as much per second to repair -- they repair more slowly even though they cost more, hence the difference.  Merc ships repair at the same speed as their non-merc counterparts, but since they cost 10x as much that makes them 10x more costly per second to repair.
