It's been awhile since I've played AI War and lately I was thinking about it more and more and finally I decided to get back into it. I got the latest patch and latest beta patch, reviewed what has been added, and started up a new game.

Immediately I found myself almost lost, I'd forgotten how everything worked and it's taken me awhile to re-learn the basics. What I use to do was put my fleets into special formations using circle formations. I've searched everywhere trying to figure out how to set my ships up in a circle again and found at one place that it was shift + q. I went into my game and tried selected some units then holding shift + q then holding right-click and dragging. My units were given a move order and moved to the location I right-clicked. I remember that what's supposed to happen is a line is supposed to be drawn from the mouse cursor so I can choose the diameter of the circle my units will form into.

Am I missing something here? Am I pressing the wrong keys, or have the keys changed? I'm sorry to be bothering you but it's a little more difficult for me to manage my fleet without organizing them in neat circles. Any help is appreciated.

Where you holding the keys while dragging? I don't use that function much but I seem to remember holding the keys.

Ya. First I held left-click and dragged a box over my units.
Then I held Shift and Q; and while holding shift and q I also held right-click and dragged with right-click.
Nothing would happen. I tried Q by itself but that just changes the zoom level. Control + Q didn't work either.

Just tried it, shift+q+right click worked normally. This is on v3.120. Maybe the combo was changed since it is slightly awkward... x4000 will probably post in a bit, he's great with this sort of thing.

I tried playing around with it a little more and still couldn't get it working. I even tried using the other shift key incase it was my keyboard with no luck. The Q key is working since when I push it the zoom changes. and also...qqqq. lol. This is with the lates patch+beta. Either I'm doing something wrong or I'm missing something.

The command has actually been moved.

It's now under the X + Right Click menu as Arc Move.

It just worked for me on 3.171. I think the X + Right-click menu was added about version 3.160 or so?

D.

Ahh, I see now. Cool menu. Takes a little longer to execute, but seems like a better variety of options.
Thanks for all the help guys.
