Cloaker Starship Tricks

I've recently started looking at the Cloaker Starships and all the fun shenanigans that can be had with them. I haven't used them for very much yet, mostly shuttling transports filled with evil surprises around on AI planets where the tachyon guardians have been removed from my wormhole of entry. Planets with AI Eyes in particular; I don't want to employ my whole fleet at once so that the Eye doesn't spawn a million zombies out at me while I pick off guard posts.

Latest 'stupid cloaker trick' was to sneak a bunch of Spirecraft Rams in next to a very annoying superfortress I'm having to deal with that has a bunch of ships hanging around near by under a spire shield post. After accidentally getting a cursed golem killed by the superfortress, it was very satisfying to kill it with ships it never saw before they exploded on it.

Anyone else feel like sharing neat or unusual things they've done with cloaker stars? Especially cases where higher mark models might be used; I'm trying to figure out if I can justify spending the extra knowledge for them.

Nuke delivery system :).  I had a game way back where there were 3 raid engines arranged in a triangle pattern on High Mark Planets.  I used a cloaker to sneak a Mk2 Nuke in and knock out those systems.   I actually asked for advice here on the forums for that plan.

How'd you deal with the tachyons sitting on the wormhole exits in that case? They sit there trying to be giant killjoys to everything that dares to be invisible.

Missile Frigate Blitzes. Bring a cloaked transport full of them to the guardians outer range (or to the other side of the wormhole it's guarding), then release them to deal with it before retreating them back into the transport.

Doesn't usually go over without losses; but if you stop for repairs frequently enough, you'll be able to take out a few tachyon guardians in a row.

I was able to take a raid engine wave from a single engine in order to make a path to one of the three systems (Autobombs & Raid Starships).  As for in the systems with the engines themselves: all you need is to get nuke into the target system, its supposed to be destroyed at that point.

I'm using them in my current co-op game to basically be a jerk.  I went for nanoswarms as my bonus ship, because I kind of felt it was my duty after the most recent patch, so I unlocked the Neinzul Enclave Starship and the Cloaker Starship and just send them in with my teammates' fleets to have invisible factories in the middle of enemy systems spewing out exploding balls of viral goo supporting their attacks.  Hilarity ensues.

I used to do that with autobombs... those were the days.

I also generally just used cloaker starships to keep my siege starships hidden - they survive a lot longer when stuff cant see them. (bombers approaching? cloak up and move away. Hostile artillery guardian? hold cloak, alpha it to death, cloak up)

This worked really well with transports too, then someone posted a video of me doing on youtube :(
