Another solution for cracking over-reinforced planets

Suicide a few light starships into the planet one at a time; it will release a large (but hopefully manageable) wave. Then you can go in and clean up :)

Clever!  That's a good way to clear reinforced wormholes in general, potentially.

I like to pop in with my riots for a few seconds, and then run away, same theory.

Raid starships are excellent for this. I like to place a fleet on my side of a wormhole then send the raid ships in to destroy guard posts and free up the defenders which immediately head for my wormhole and get toasted. Unlike light starships, the raid ships are fast enough to flee defending units and have to be fairly unlucky to get killed.

Yep, it's cheap enough to be expendable and has the "AI Will Abandon Post To Pursue" tag on it.

is it the whole planet will abandon post or just within range, and also it pursues through the wormhole?

Well, when i send a light starship through they usually blow it up right away then those that attacked it are freed (just like in CPAs) and thus attack me.

Depends on the planet's ship number and level. If it's a heavily reinforced core world i'll ghet 1-200 per ship, i think if it's a reinforced 1 or 2 i'll get at least 4 or 500. Not sure though (because i've only done it on a core world recently)

the ai takes all or some or most of it attention to electric shuttles that why i love them. as the ai will send in 1 stronger unit out of the pack and it would cerntly die but the rest would pick off you ships this is used to get them close to your ships as so you could make them stay thier then after they all die send in the fresh batch then they should either go in or yust :D wait their for attack.
AI War - even the smallest units can make all the difference no matter how weak they are still quite capable of taking the hits. if it can Kill and receive damage then it worth its time other wise if it cant kill and cant take the damage for the higher surviving ships then it is worthless.
