My two teammates think we should take the whole 80-planet galaxy... and we are playing the game for the first time, difficulty 7, AIP 450, and have 11 planets so far, 8 and a half hours in, only one (human) homeworld left  :D. And I think that they are crazy we should simply prioritize  ;D

What do you think?

Welcome to the forums, Nenad!

I'd say that at best, taking over the entire galaxy in this case is wishful thinking.  With only 11 planets and only one home command station left, it will be an uphill battle in both taking planets and maintaining them, especially with three times as many waves as there would be normally since there are three players).

In this situation, I would probably just pack up and start a new game, if I wasn't reasonably near the goal of blowing the AI home command stations.

Good luck, and be sure to post screenshots!

Bear in mind that the game is designed to kill you if you try to take the whole galaxy instead of prioritizing. It can be done, but it's an extremely uphill battle and you has to be really on the ball from the start of the campaign. It sounds like your team is not in a situation conductive to such a victory.

Building several might give OP enough time to take out the AI homeworlds while his hapless allies look forward to the big bombs.

That's what I'm trying to tell them but they won't listen >.<;

Edit: Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

The funny thing is that I lost my command station, too.  :P

Taking over the whole 80-planet galaxy only works if you are excellent at using hotkeys and multitasking.......and insane

For starters, i recommend Prioritizing

but still, Welcome to the forums, Nenad, we are always welcoming More Cannon fodder more commanders to fight against the AI

How 'bout you just mount a offensive and push them back to their homeworld instead of nuking yourself?

building up a big attack force and rushing straight to the homeworlds might give them a very small chance... unless they have core shield generators turned on :D

We do >.>

But you know what's weird? The game seem relatively easy so far. It's not like we are struggling for survival.

Yet you are 2/3 of the way dead?  That's an interesting appraisal.  :P

I'd say focus on neutering border planets / destroying warp gates (all bordering warp gates but 1) and defending. When you think you're holding your planets well, try expanding slowly again. If you have dyson sphere minor faction turned on, make it a high priority to find it and destroy the command station on the sphere's planet (don't build a command station there yourself). Dyson gatlings will spawn and aid you, patrolling your planets that are connected with eachother and removing high threat from your borders. If you don't have dyson sphere turned on, try finding a botnet golem if you have golems turned on. huge amount of zombie ships can be quite helpfull in keeping the AI busy.
If you don't have golems turned on either, then I'd say be very carefull and try to slowly expand your territory. try to avoid taking planets that border mark IV planets, unless you have no other choice. Try to take only planets that will aid you in your quest to destroy the AI (planets with advanced research stations, factories, fabricators, core shield generators, golems, etc). Search for datacenters and use raid starships to destroy them. Search for all 4 co-proccesors and try to destroy them at about the same time to significantly reduce AI progress. And probably the most important in the category of droppping AI progress: Search for an AI superterminal. When used right, that thing can drop the AI progress with multiple hundreds of points. I just hope for you that the map seed you're playing on has an AI superterminal :P

From your wiki: "Your team succeeds or fails as a group. No one is "out" early. So as long as one player has a home command station surviving, your team can still win. It's the same for the two AIs in all games, actually. "

I'm playing with that in mind  ;D

Thanks for the advice!
