Adjacent Planet out of Supply
« on: June 23, 2013, 03:54:01 pm »
I've searched for this topic and what I found wasn't the same as my situation.

I'm playing the intermediate (campaign) tutorial, and I have captured several worlds but one of them it indicates is out of supply. Yet I have two planets adjacent with supply and with command centers. I'm confused what I'm doing wrong. I've deleted and recreated each command center thinking maybe they had to be Economic, but that didn't fix the issue. I control all the words from my Home world to this one. And I had it before at one time but lost it to the AI (as well as others). This is the only one that I can to get "in supply."

Was it nuked or holding a co-processor? Both block supply.

You're probably right, it was nuked, by accident. *sheepish look*

So since this planet is the single link to planets further away from me, everything past it will be permanently out of supply, won't they?

*facepalm*

Nope, stations create supply anywhere non-nuked or blocked. You just have to get a claim past it to get supply moving forward.

I tried it and you were right! Awesome, I thought I was cut off from a half the other planets in terms of supply! Yay! Thank you!

In the tutorial?  Welcome to the game, I think you have a very interesting career as an AIW commander ahead of you :)

It's not a bad thing to be learning about.  Proper warhead usage can really make the difference between winning and losing in a very difficult scenario.  Generally in the very end-game.  Much earlier than that any significant warhead use usually means loss, or a scenario that wasn't really all that challenging.

I was desperate, to be honest. I had all the planets but the AI Home world, and two others, and I was continually unable to finish the AI off. Using the nukes was effective the first time, as it cleared a world for me, but the second one was kept in reserve and when the AI went on a rather pissed-off rampage after me I didn't get a chance to move it out of the system before they...um... played with nukes and poof! At first I didn't realize what happened, but when it got mentioned above as a reason there is no supply I realized what must have happened.

I am still struggling to finish the AI off, BTW!!! If this is level 1 I hope there is a level 0!!! LOL

Using nukes makes it harder by raising the AI Progress, so they should be a desperation move.

What you may need to do is gather some more knowledge to unlock more/better ships, as those will help you take the AI out. Science ships can do that in systems you already have (up to 3000/system, the map can show you how much you've gotten from a system), or you can use a knowledge hacker ship to get knowledge from AI worlds without having to take them (this makes the AI angry, but doesn't raise AI Progress).
