Just gotten into this game, and have to say it's great. But this is something that disturbs me. Whenever I try to build say, 10-15 engineers simultaneously only a few of them (I figure 5, since 5 engineers usually builds up just fine) will actually start building. All others just stay at 1%.
 
That's quite alright, but what happens is all the engineers I already have will try and boost up the non-building up engineers production, and they still just stays at 1% no matter how many there are helping.

So, what I have to do is manually set all my engineers to build up an engineer that is actually growing up in %. And I have to do this for each one. Now, this is really some unnecessary micro, and is most likely a bug.
This happens with other buildings too, turrets etc. Script it so that the engineers will only try to assist the first 5 building in queue that are actually building up in building %. Or remove the limitation altogether.

I believe there's a limit on how many ships of a given sort can simultaneously build at once if they cost a certain amount, but that's a limit you can change on the CTRLS window.  Keith implemented it rather than I, so I don't remember the details, but that's the general idea.

This is actually in there for your protection and to reduce micromanagement, because it doesn't prevent your stuff from being built, it just makes it build int a more streamlined fashion assuming that your economy is running relatively near capacity.  If you lose a big battle and a ton of turrets are destroyed and then start rebuilding, that can absolutely tank your economy without some sort of check and balance.

But, that said, if you don't like it you should be able to turn it off or adjust it via one of the CTRLS options.  Glad you're enjoying the game!

Ok, so the limit is on any given TYPE of ship. So I could build 5 of every different ship with no worries right? Anyway, is there anything you could do about the engineers not just throwing lotsa dock work time away assisting ships that stay at 1% cause they don't know what's next in queue? It will be confusing to new players like me who don't know why it's happening.
And I'm definitely gonna turn that limit off in CTRLS.

I've never encountered this - I'll toss up 150 turrets at once and they'll all build at the same time.

I think this might be more related to the "auto-build engineers" control, since it won't build multiple engineers at a time - it'll start one, go through a cycle to check how many engineers there are, then start the next, etc. etc..

That's exactly the reason that control node is there. When those turrets get blasted in a wave and all 150 of them try rebuilding at once? Not fun :D

Thats a very useful control.

You will find out it soon in LoTS campaign when few nice attack waves demolish tons of your defenses and tank your economy.

When I played it there was no control like that and going to - few k of each resource wasn't uncommon after an attack wave.

The economic game in Fallen Spire is pretty crazy. With all the extra planets I have to take, I find my economy booming quite a bit. But yeah, one exo wave wipes out tons of defenses on multiple planets, and some command stations, so it all tanks while I rebuild. But then once it's done, I'm back to max of each resource in no time. I find that I'm building a lot more merc ships than I usually do just so that resource flow has something to do inbetween attacks. Of course if I forget to pause the merc dock when an attack comes in, it leads to sad times.
