Just bought the Pre-Z and I'm wondering if there is a current version of the Unit Types and Tactics page like the great one on the Wiki?

BTW, looks like it's going to be just great...already some "eye-openers" in my preliminary explorations

There isn't one posted, as this is changing several times a week at the moment, but you can export one by opening the game, starting a new game, hitting F3, and then hitting Ctrl+Shift+F8.  That exports a number of excel files into the Data folder under your AI War folder.  The next prerelease version (to hit tomorrow, I hope) will include more robust strong/weak data than the current one does.  Also please bear in mind that we're still working on the balance of the new units, so a lot of that is super preliminary is going to get changed a lot over the coming month or so.

But we're really excited about it, too, this expansion really is a pretty massive one when all of the features are fully in there!  Thanks again for your support, and hope you enjoy! :)

Thanks for the quick answer X.

Oh yeah it's great having so many new units to consider, whoa...Just want to go into combat with one eye at least half open ;-)

Well worth the price of admission even at this young stage of my current game.

My pleasure, glad you're enjoying it.

By the by, if you want to enable the expansion in an existing savegame, be sure to note the following, if you didn't already see it from the FAQ:

-Entering the chat text "cmd:activate expansion 1" (without quotes) now allows for the first expansion to be enabled for a campaign that did not already have the expansion enabled.  This includes enabling the expansion ship classes, as well as enabling golems and other new capturables, although the population of those capturables is likely to be different from what it would have been if the expansion had been turned on from the start of the campaign given the same seed and other settings.

Thanks for that.

My current game is on a map with a starting position and Bonus ship I like (Raider -- very useful!) so I'll be wanting to keep this one for sure.

Interesting start...I had a level IV planet right next door to my homeworld, and within few mins of game time, managed to ..well Raid...their Warp Gate post haste with a tidy little task force.  Of course it helped that the WP was largely undefended so early in the game and was quite close to my warp in heh.  Had to try it, loved the result.

Bring on the new units!

Makes me wonder if there will be more Advanced Science ships to capture, and also whether there will ever be an option to have more than 1 Bonus ship to start a game with?  Would be slick, even if it correspondingly bumps up the AI deployments as well.

My pleasure.  There won't be new Advanced Research Stations, but there will be tons (and tons) of new ships to capture.  Golems, as well as a bunch of new specialized ship lines outside of the starting ship classes, as well as some new Zenith Reserves that will give you a group batch of certain Zenith ships, etc.  So, there's plenty to look forward to with any given game, and you should be able to field a bit larger fleets than before in the end.

For starting with more than 1 bonus ship at the start, you can simply select more than one home planet and that'll give you access to all of the bonus ship types there.  You can have up to 8 home planets, so 8 starting bonus types, if you want.  But since you can only unlock a 8 total bonus ship types in a game, that then makes the ARSes useless.  Starting with multiple planets also has other effects (making certain things harder and others easier), so that's something to watch out for, too.  I'd recommend no more than 2 or 3 starting planets for a regular-seeming game, though there are certainly those here who enjoy playing big 8-planet starts. :)
