Some questions about the multiplayer

Is it port forwarding? if so i am VERY sad because i love this game but my router does not have any guides on port forwarding past the late 1990's

Well it hasn't exactly changed all that much since then, the hard part is actually knowing your router password. Once you're in there is more than likely will be labelled port forwarding.
