In case you haven't seen it before:

http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,8496.0.html (on port-forwarding; simply turning firewalls off can sometimes result in a lockdown, rather than things getting more open; not sure in your specific case)

And one first-step question for troubleshooting this sort of problem: can you successfully ping the target IP? (as in, use "ping" from the windows command line)

That topic, while it may well be the problem, does not seem to contain a solution (ie I have no idea how to do stuff like that).

True-Chaos, it will probably be a little while while I sort this out (order of half an hour (so anywhere from three minutes to five hours)).

Are you sure about your current IP? Because I could not ping you.

If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

Ok it might work now. Try to connect to 76.215.159.147.
Edit: curse your offline-ness.

When connecting mysteriously goes wrong, download Hamachi, then join the network FaultyLogic.

You appear to have joined the network. What should I do now?

That topic, while it may well be the problem, does not seem to contain a solution (ie I have no idea how to do stuff like that).
It contained a link to a site with basically all the info there is on it, but to cut out some of the hops:

1) Go to http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm (if it pops up an ad for PFConfig just X out of that)
2) Click the name of your router brand (or select it from their dropdown list)
3) Click the name of your router model (or select it from their dropdown list)
4) On the next page, click "Default Guide" in the third paragraph of normal-size text.
5) It will give you a series of instructions and screenshots from your router's interface on how to do the port-forwarding.

That said, if Himachi works (and is fast enough), then none of that's necessary.  Once on Himachi just use AIW's Direct Connect (or Direct IP, I forget the button name) function and enter whatever their IP is within that Himachi network (won't be the same as their public IP).

Ah, then 5.187.205.183 should work.

Edit: and yet it does not.

Edit 2: thanks Keith <tonal note: I am being sincere>.

At the moment I am on step 8: pull hair out because it should be working.

I would like to play a game, been wondering how other players play.
I have hamachi and know a couple of tricks that should make it work.
