I just played my first game (version 3. whatever the most up-to-date-is with the expansion installed [no beta patches ect]). Beat a level 7.0 and 7.3 AI with some difficulties. I had the AI progress set to 1 every 15 minutes and there was 80 planets. I had astro trains and mines off.
I feel I can do much better already just having had played that "simple" game.
Let me back track to myself and when I can play.
I'm a 25 year old nerd that works 8-430 central time on weekdays. Right now, I'm patiently waiting for star craft 2 beta (which I'm NOT a part of) and the full game (same game) to come out to satisfy my gaming needs/goals/whatnot. Till then, a game like this is an excellent (and wonderful!) filler.
I'm looking for a fellow nerd (or 2 but probably just 1 so its easy to get a game going) to play large games with. I can play MOST nights after work at some point between 5pm and 11pm central time (I have a fiance but shes getting a masters right now so some nights I'm bored some I'm with her.... most nights I'm BORED [she is BUSY]). Weekends I usually do a nerd binge of gaming from 10pm to 3/4/5am.
Basicly, what I want is someone that wants to explore AT least the 7.0 AI level (and higher after a game or two!) and try out the co-op.
I have a mic and can use some kind of voice chat though i dont own a vent server.
For a first co-op game, I want this :
Player able to play a few (3+) a week for a few hours and able to work with my semi flexible schedule (i work 8-430 weekdays central time but have some other commitments) with a focus on later weekend nights. A player that is either newbish or at my level (can scrape a win off a single player vs 2 7.0s). MIN skill is able to play AND WIN vs some 6.0s.
For game settings I want to play vs two 7.3+ AIs with some extra "fun" things turned on (golems/trains/whatever) and a LARGE galaxy (more than 80 worlds!).
I love how this game is sc meets civ and I want to try it on a grander scale!
