I'm almost thinking they need to spawn ships to make up for any missing units.
Yea, I've been considering that too, but it seems more than a bit wrong.  I mean, that's what waves are, right?

I could have it pile the points into a spawning bunch of guardians or something to make it at least a bit varied without it feeling like the AI is just getting a ton of normal fleet ships for free beyond the normal reinforcement/wave model.

Or have it slap engines on a FortIII/Superfort and float that over to you, if it absolutely has to be "only releasing existing units" ;)

AI Superfortress on my homeworld, thanks for the nightmares.  :'(

Anyways, is the "pull from other marks" logic still not getting enough? I thought a CPA would pull from every ship in the galaxy (including those in barracks) if it absolutely had to. Maybe if there aren't enough ships in the galaxy, only then would it spawn new ships to meet the number.

Or are you talking about the actual number of units to try to free relative to AIP?

Sometimes it seems to just plain run out of ships, which is kind of funny.  Sometimes it's not running out, it's just generating an actual CPA size that seems rather on the low end.

Hmm, if I can generate an oddly small CPA count, I'll post the wave log. Assuming of course the logic of how it determines CPA ship count is being logged.

CPAs in general seem to be about half a normal wave expectation, so yeah, they do seem a bit low.  However, to answer other questions, I've debating on using CPAs to empty out AI homeworld defenders.... so yeah, they run out, if you can weather the fallout that emptying the galaxy like that occurs one CPA before it's reasonable to handle.
... and then we'll have cake.

Clicky for full size if you can't make out the numbers. How do I generate a wave log? I've got both advanced and reinforcement logging on, but nothing seems to be generating... do you need those options on from the start of the game?
