A Somewhat OK Start....
« on: January 17, 2010, 08:42:13 pm »
I am fighting two lvl 7 AI, I am in a well defendable spot, as you can see in the picture Starting Planets, at the cost of low resources.

In the picture Home Planet Layout, you can see that it is easy for me to move my forces to any wormhole very quickly, and I also have a favorable amount of crystal deposits.

So far I have eliminated all Special Gaurd Posts adjacent to my planets, so the reinforcements of nearby enemy planets is pleasingly low. I have also taken out all nearby Warp Gates to prevent any direct attacks on my home planet, this allows me to intercept the giant warp raids that were originaly meant for my planet with missiles or starships.

Pictures
Starting Planets - This is what me and the AI started with.
Home Planet Layout - This is a picture of the my planet in far zoom.
Base - This is a current picture of my base.
Current Positions - This is an up to date picture of the struggle between me and the clever AI

Current Standing Fleet
Standard Fighter MK I - 170
Raptor MK I - 20
Light Starship - 1
Raid Starship MK I - 1

You're not one for capturing the neighboring planets to your homeworld, eh?  Always strikes me the many different ways that people play, I would have taken those three by habit, but I know that many people prefer it your way...

And now I have failed, my defenses were overun by by a large swarm of parasites and leech starships. This is why I never brute force my way. Of course my failure was of pure tactical error, I neglected to check my defenses before making my first move.

It started with a simple raid,I was almost finished when suddenly a giant raid of bombers came my way, I was extremly low on resources so my Spam Fighter tactic was not going to work, I was pretty much doomed

Here is the link to the video of my final doom....

tractors, tractors are your friend ;) (But dude, you need to get a new pc.. seriously) ^^

My first build up tactics

8 tractors at every wormhole - once done, ship production.  ;) Afterwards, turrets, more turrets, everywhere turrets. and shields around the tractors...

But i am a turtle ;p

Nope, MK I Bombers, if it wasnt for the fact that I was already overrun, it wouldnt have been a problem.
