Good news and bad news.
Good news, the next counterattack wave is only 8488 ships.
Bad news, a rebel colony's popped up on a planet 27 hops away. I could pop the command station, but getting a colony ship, or even a transport, through 27 wormholes... is going to be brave.
But eh. Worst case scenario, if the AI looks like it's going to win, I'll set off a Mk III Nuke. It is better to die then be killed.
EDIT: Just to make it sound less whiny, I've done the following. First of all, I'm going to assume that the rebels are going to die. Just too far away, sorry. I'll build a small coffee shop or something.
Now, there's an Armored Golem a few planets away, and a bit after that is the first of many Fabricators. 10, to be exact. Weasel, Bulletproof, Paralyser, Rotter, Warbird, Bomber Starship, 2 Spider, Translocator and Engineer. There's also 9 golems, including the aforementioned Armored.
I'm bringing the starships up to Mk II across the board, just to give my fleet a bit of extra firepower. And I've got 14 out of 15 Attrictioners, only missing a Mk IV, so that's a bit of extra damage. And due to the extra economy, I can get basic defenses up in about 2 minutes.
Despite that, it may be almost a minor problem. And the last time I used the word minor to describe a problem was when I almost died. Might even have used small, can't really remember.
Anyway, the wave's arrived, only 2403 firepower.
Another edit: The next normal wave is only 30,000 ships, firepower of 5331. I think the AI dislikes me.
