Almost directly south of your homeworld there's a planet called "Takenow". I think it's trying to tell you something.  ;D

Heh. I'm on that like green on pine needles.

Update:

Tech Unlocks: Decloaker and Fortress Mk I. I need something defensive, the AI is throwing waves of Bombers and Space Planes at me. The Space Planes...no big deal. The Bombers...I almost lost in the opening. 188 Bombers (99 from one wormhole, 99 from another) and then, 2 minutes after I captured Charisa, 99 Bombers and 2 Starships. Good Times! This is all kinds of fun!

The updated map. Just fought off a wave of Space Planes and 2 Leech Starships.

All in all, I'm enjoying it immensely. I can't seem to say enough good things. I'll drink a Gunniess in AI War's honor!

Sounds like some sort of AI plot to compromise your strategic judgment ;)

:D :D :D Yea, maybe. But I still had that Guinness.

Update: Took the ARS finally. AI Eyes are a real pain in the rear, especially with FF's. It netted me... Mk I and Mk II Laser Gatlings. I am running into a lot of Bulletproof Fighters...they should be useful.

I gate raided Aene, so that should ease the pressure of defending Uvetjo to a minimum. Also, Resistance Fighters popped up during a wave of 330 Bombers. Now, they patrol my planets. They help....a lot.

Continuing to scout, there's a whole lot of nothing. Lots of Mk. III and Mk. IV planets, but nothing (other than Takenow) to really work toward. I just unlocked Scout III's, Mk II Metal Harvesters and Mk II Military Command Center.

I'll be sad when you get to Takenow and it's just a fortress under a forcefield and nothing else. Well, maybe the AI will leave a big neon middle finger floating in space for you.

I think it prefers the Sirius Cybernetics approach.  "Share and Enjoy!"

Update:

Takenow scouted. Big old Neon Middle Finger. AI SUPER FORTRESS. *mutter* I'm still tempted though ;)

So I did a lot of scouting. Found 2 Core Ship Fabricators, Raider and Missile Frigate and another ARS. Raider Fabricator is on Neipo, Missile Frigate and ARS are on Killchardem. I'm going to skip Wayaidne after neutering it.

Good times.

Update:

I got stuck for a while once I had taken the 2 worlds with the Mk V fab's on them. The ARS gave me Space Tanks. So, good times. Scouting has found several things.

The First AI Homeworld:

Factory World

The linking system:

Now, I need to figure out a plan forward.

EDIT:

Current as of night, 03-12-11

The P9's are ARS's, Adv. Factory's and Core Ship makers. I lost Killchardem. I intend on retaking it. I also don't know if I should take Aidai or not.

I noticed you seem to be getting a lot of waves with bombers. Use fighters to counter those, they got bonus damage against bombers.
Though it's been a while since the last post so I don't know if you're still playing the same campaign :P

Unfortunately no. I managed to kill the AI Homeworld that I found, and died pretty quickly to one of the following waves. I started a new campaign, and I'm still enjoying it immensely :) The new campaign has an amazing defensive position. I'll post a screen shot when I get home from work today :)

ah cool ^^
yeah, I've got over 200 hours in this game so far and still enjoying it as if I'm just starting out :D It's addictive like that :P
Even now I can only handle AI's on difficulty 7.6-8.... It's gonna take a while before I'm able to beat the AI at dif 9 or up lol, especially the harder AI types.
anyway, doing something like this would be pretty cool to do myself someday... posting screenies of your progress with a campaign. That way I could get some strategic feedback of the real vets around here and compare those strategies to my own :P

Yea. The advice I was getting from the vets was very very helpful! I found that the screen shots helped them see what I was seeing. :)

Here's my current game. Nice defensive setup. Light of the Spire is enabled, and Spirecraft on easy. Found an ARS (Spire Mini Ram) and a Mk. IV Factory inside the defensive zone. My problem is i keep running into Counterattack Posts on worlds with AI Eyes. It slows me down a lot with having to roll all of my forces to random world to defend. But lots and lots of fun :)

Construct an FF next to the Eye, hide some engies under it and let some bomber starships grind down the Eye ... incase you want the counter-post to remain. You can keep the starships under the FF for a loooooong grind, in relative safety, or outside the FFs cover but you will than need to stay a bit more hands-on as each 'respawn' of the planets forces your starships are sitting ducks. Leave some transports behind incase you need to run/cant repair the starships cause keep being targeted (when you hide them, the AI loses its 'lock' and most likelly target the FF afterwards).

Edit: interesting map btw ;) I'm however not too happy seeing you gave my color to the AI :D
