Mad-Bombers & Advanced Hybrids
« on: March 14, 2011, 07:09:58 pm »
The combination of them is awesome, but .. er .. say difficult, let me illustrate  ::)

Here is where I have 8(actually 9) planets and things start getting rather difficult:

Here is where I have 9(actually 10) planets:

Next planet taken and secured the one constantly being lost to Hybrid-waves, 11 planets total:

The planet selected was taken, totalling 12 planets, when a CPA hit me. Soon after my empire looked like this:

4 Planets lost so far.

About a minute later:

2 More planets lost.

Home .. sort of:

An other planet lost.

Well .... I'll get them next time:

I can still beat them with my last 4 planets!!:

Ah, I guess not ...:

Still not that bad a game :)

You certainly took a lot of them with you :)

But yea, Mad Bomber + Advanced Hybrids... shudder ;)

Well, I will replay this map ... and will finish it ...  8)

Effectivly I was just defending 5 borders instead of conquering terf, expansion went or too fast or too slow.
I did have the Dyson enabled as a counter to the Hybrids ...  ::)

You certainly took a lot of them with you :)

Talking about that, more or less. Do these scores seem realistic, seems a bit unrealistic to me .. and I want to be no1 :D

Yeah, they're completely realistic (I know someone in the top 10, and I'm #24 - would've been higher if I had the autobombs that game instead of Neinzul), you just need to set the game up properly.  Start up a 16 homeworld start (if you don't mind having problems with getting bonus ships) or 11 homeworlds otherwise, 120 planet snake map, two level 10 raid engine AIs with all plots and minor factions enabled, and make sure you have the old version of autobombs that can hit an asymptotically large group of ships.  Our only downfall was that hunter/killers were still enabled in the game due to version, and there's quite literally no way to kill one h/k, let alone 10 of them.

Ah, thanks for the answer.
I did feel 'something' was up. Bit of cheeky play it is :D

Oops, forgot to mention that both of those ratings are adjusted - we don't rank at all on the unadjusted.

I'm wondering how they relate to each other. Somehow without adjusting a raw score, in my case, it is lower than the adjusted scores, but does get me much higher on the leaderboards .. feels a bit counter-intuitive.

What settings are you playing with?  If you have Golems/Spirecraft on easy/medium, your adjusted score is going to be significantly lower.  Also, I think having other minor factions/AI plots enabled adds more multipliers to your adjusted score.  Other than that, I have no clue.

Pretty much anything at a time, mixing things up a bit. Golems and Spirecraft on hard though, I honostly find the exo-waves less problematic than the penalties on medium :D
Last game: 100planet D-maze with 2 8.6 Assassins/Spirecraft/FS/Hybrids/Trader/S-Leaders/Avengers.
Above game: 80planet Realistic with 2 8.6 Mad-bombers/same as above but without FS/S-Leaders, with the Dyson Sphere.
