Hatred of miners
« on: February 16, 2011, 07:18:37 am »
Has anybody found a planet with the resources and mineral type things that they need badly but have it destroyed?

I was scouting out a on a x map (which i placed my base poorly in) and found a planet about 4 jumps away from my home planet containing all the resources I needed to get a huge offensive going. I attempted to take the planet 3 times on different occasions but failed each time due to AI and enclave attacks on my planets. After i stabilized my situation a bit I was fully prepared to take the system. Then I looked at the alerts box that tells you when miners and such are happening and see that the planet was going to be destroyed in 3 seconds. (I almost never paid attention to the alerts cause I'm always busy dealing with the ai attacks.) I got to watch as the planet i was going to claim as a prize got blown up along with 3 other planets separating my home planet from the ai. The miners screwed me over badly.

(I'm still playing this game cause it proves a challenge.)  :'(

You can turn off miners in the AI Options box, along with a host of other minor factions to tailor suit the game to your playstyle.

What Entrenched Homperson said. They are an optional part of the game for this very reason. If you don't like them, turn them off.
