AVWW Beta 0.914 "Insecticide" Released!
« on: March 24, 2012, 11:39:08 pm »
Original: http://arcengames.blogspot.com/2012/03/avww-beta-0914-insecticide-released.html

This one is our second release of the day, and it's just a bugfix release that is focused on fixing mainly things that we broke in the prior version.  With that many changes to get multiplayer working better (which we're told that it is, happily), there were bound to be some other things broken.

The unhappy truth of doing surgery on a codebase to fix a nest of issues is that you get some collateral damage.  Fortunately the damage was mostly pretty mild so far (knock on wood), but definitely still annoying and something we wanted to fix as soon as we could.  All of the worst ones seem to be resolved with this release, but let us know what else you find that seems off, as always!

More to come soon.  Enjoy!

This is a standard update that you can download through the in-game updater itself, if you already have 0.500 or later. When you launch the game, you'll see the notice of the update having been found if you're connected to the Internet at the time.  If you don't have 0.500 or later, you can download that here.

"Insecticide" for bug squashing I assume.... pretty generic. Starting to run out of clever patch names? How soon before we start having patches named after obscure titles of works by Proust?  :P

(I kid, I kid, please don't hit me!)

For making sure the mysteries work as intended I'd suggest showing the "tier" of a mystery clue when it's found so testers can ensure that the tiered unlocking works.

That definitely is working, don't worry. :) it's dirt simple and already tested.

So where was this "straw the broke the camel's back" bug or oversight that made you remove skelebot invincibility thing due to you realizing how damaging it is to the game if there are any bugs with it?

Also, hilarious bug with the pre-placed platform removal thing.

Basically, unless you where playing on the lowest platforming difficulty, every room would force you to "become the guy" eventually. :P

Something is definately right in the latest versions MP I can't stop playing it's getting really addictive. All the issues I had before seem to have been caught and I can concentrate on actually trying to play the game.

Continent 3 on Tolls server is proving to be a real challenge it's now reached tier 5 and I have only just crafted tier 4 spells. The thing keeping me alive is upgrades and enchants really enjoying playing my current character.

Looking forward to more people joining MP then it will really come alive.
