Where in the world are the lieutenants?

Hi there, super newbie here...just bought AVWW yesterday and am enjoying myself so far

Made my way to the closest chunk with a L2 Lieutenant in it and I've scouted 100% but have not found the lieu yet.
Please, God, help me

The purple chunk on the dungeon map is the one you're looking for. There's a tower on that piece you enter to find the lieutenant.

There should be a gigantic, brown tower somewhere in the very first chunk. If it isn't in the first chunk, keep looking. I think the chunk color on the map is purple if the tower is there. Just enter the tower, find your way to the top and defeat the lieutenant.

Now...if I may digress for a moment...how do I use books (lumbermancy, etc)?

When in the settlement, open the Planning menu, then Continent Status, then Settlement Residents, click on whoever you wanna give it to, and then click on "give gift" and you can select something to give to them.
